Lynnhaven Chapter No, 184

Lynnhaven Chapter No. 184 participated in the Veterans’ Day Parade in Virginia Beach on Friday, November 11th.

Morgan Johnson Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, proudly presents the “Support First Responder” Challenge Coin to Sheriff Mike Taylor.  As the coin indicates, first responders are the nation’s first line of defense.  They are known to serve and protect others in their time of need.   “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”.  John 15:13

Just before Christmas, the members of Botetourt Chapter #135 delivered a sumptuous breakfast to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s office, E-911 Dispatch Center and General District Court.   The local breakfast project was a means to express appreciation for the efforts of the First Responders’ service to our community. The Worthy Matron, Trish Morris, also presented the First Responder Challenge” coins to Sheriff Sprinkle and Lt. Jeff Stritesky.  Thanks go to all who helped organize, prepare and deliver food for this event.

Westminster Chapter No. 99 Presentation

          

Sister Kathy Smith and Brother David Sawyer, Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron of Westminster Chapter No. 99 and Brother Lyle Garrette, PGP had the honor to  present  Sister Virginia Brickey, PM with her 75-year service pin.  Also present to witness this momentous occasion were Sister Faye Garrette, PM, Brother John Brown, PP and Sister Virginia’s daughter, son and neighbor. She is 98 and gets around just fine. Sister Faye played the organ and we sang a couple of songs. A day well spent.

Nellie Custis #169

   

 

During our stated meeting in March, Nellie Custis Chapter #169 was honored by a visit from the Worthy Grand Patron, Brother Lee Sloppy and his wife, Sister Amanda Sloppy, PM.  During the meeting, Brother Lee presented Sister Barbara Davis Flanagan, GGCCM with her 50 year pin and certificate of dedicated service in the Order of the Eastern Star.  Also attending were Sister Holly Meade PM, Grand Trustee; Brother Kenny Meade, PP; and Sisters Edna Apaga PM, Grand Adah, Amanda Sloppy PM, Grand Martha,  and Cathy Cronin PM, Grand Historian during Sister Barbara’s year in the Grand East.  A reception honoring Sister Barbara and her guests was held after the meeting.

Robertson-Bennett Chapter #70

The members of Robertson-Bennett #70 held a fundraising yard sale event on Saturday, May 6th  It was a very enjoyable, rewarding, and successful day for our chapter, even though at times we experienced bouts of cold wind and a few sprinkles of rain.  We were blessed from time to time with nature’s rays of sun which kept us warm and happy.

Robertson-Bennett Chapter #70

 

Presents Masonic Bible to Masons

 On behalf of the membership of Robertson-Bennett Chapter #70, Order of the Eastern Star, Georgia Straight, Worthy Matron and Keith Rice, Worthy Patron presented to the Worshipful Master, Rob Booth of Kent Masonic Lodge #305 AF&AM a Masonic Bible which was donated by Richard Gunn, a member of Robertson-Bennett Chapter #70. The lodge is located at 3710 Malmaison Road, Keeling, VA.
