Milnes Chapter #3 is the oldest active Chapter in the State of Virginia On September 11th, 1896, Twenty-Five Delegates and Members from Queen Esther Chapter #3 of Hagerstown Maryland arrived in Shenandoah Virginia under the direction of Brother Hinds, Most Worthy Grand Patron, of the General Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, to Institute a new Chapter in Virginia.  They brought with them the new Charter, Ritual, Signet, ETC for this new Chapter.  On that day, Milnes Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star of Virginia was Instituted according to the Ritualistic ceremony of the General Grand Chapter.
